What countries are Des-Case subscription packages available? The We Monitor™ and Enterprise packages are available in the United States and Canada. The IsoLogic® platform in the You Monitor™ package is accessible globally, but the sensors and gateways that connect to it will vary by country depending on certifications. Contact us at [email protected] to determine what is available near you.

Can I have access to the IsoLogic® platform without a subscription package? No, not at this time. However, you can have limited access to wireless connected breather data if you are manually collecting it through the mobile app.

What happens with the information after I cancel this service? The information is archived by Des-Case such that if you ever wished to re-subscribe, you could access your data. Limited data for wireless connected breathers is accessible if you are manually collecting it through the mobile app.

If I’m subscribed into the We Monitor™ subscription package, can I add additional sensors to be monitored that are not manufactured by or provided through Des-Case? No, only sensors and gateways sold through Des-Case will connect to the IsoLogic® platform and are able to be monitored under subscription. If you would like to submit a request for Des-Case to consider adding a specific sensor to its portfolio, please email us at [email protected]

What are the penalties for canceling the We Monitor™ subscription before the 2-year contract ends? The customer must pay the remaining term of the contract and return any and all equipment to Des-Case in accordance with Des-Case Corporation’s Return Policy. If the customer wishes to keep the equipment, the customer must purchase it from Des-Case at the published “suggested list price” at the time of termination. The sensors not included in this return list are additional sensors added to the package that are purchased upfront (anything outside the connected breathers and edge gateways).

What if I need more training licenses than what comes with my subscription? Additional licenses can be purchased through your distribution partner and accessed via our learning management system. Contact us [email protected] for pricing and options.

What if I use all my allotted connected breather cartridge replacements included with the subscription and need more? Please contact us at [email protected] for us to evaluate your usage on a case-by-case basis.

What if I want to pay my 2-year subscription upfront rather than be billed quarterly? Please contact us at [email protected]

Can a customer have both “we monitor” subscription for their critical assets and “You Monitor” for not critical assets? How will this work and is presented in the dashboard? A customer can have both “You Monitor” and “We Monitor” packages in their plant on different assets. However, they cannot have two different packages on the SAME asset. All sensors must be tied to one package on that asset.

Sensor and Edge Gateway

Can I use the Des-Case edge gateway to send data to my CMMS? Not at this time, but enhancements are always occurring. CSV data files can be downloaded from the IsoLogic dashboard which may enhance your CMMS data.

Do I need the Des-Case edge gateway to use Des-Case sensors? No. Currently, all wired sensors sold by Des-Case utilize RS-485 Modbus protocol. There are also display units that can be added to the sensor to show data at the sensor location. Some sensors have other protocols available. Contact your Des-Case representative for details on specific sensors.

Can I use the Des-Case edge gateway to receive data from other sensors not sold by Des-Case? Not at this time, but enhancements are always occurring. Please contact us at [email protected] to share a sensor recommendation.

Can I use the wired or wireless connected breather with the edge gateway? Both wired and wireless breathers are compatible with the edge gateway.

How close do my sensors need to be to the gateway? Wired sensors can be several hundred feet from the gateway provided the proper industrial standard is followed for RS-485 circuits. Wireless breathers usually need to be within 100 feet. Walls, machines, electrical interference and competing RF signals can all reduce this range.

How many sensors can communicate with the gateway? Data from approximately 64 wireless breathers can effectively be collected. There are six RS-485 ports and two 4-20ma ports.

Is there a sleep mode for the breather modules? Yes. Breathers take readings once per hour and are in “sleep” mode until taking the next reading or if someone syncs data from the mobile application or presses the local status button on the communication module.

How often are readings taken from the sensors? Sampling frequencies can be adjusted on many of the sensors depending on criticality and the desired level of detail. Contact your Des-Case representative for specifics.

Can I set my own alert thresholds for the sensors in the IsoLogic platform? Yes. All sensors will have a default value but most will have adjustable trigger levels.

How will I be notified when something goes outside the normal threshold and into a warning or alarm? An email notification will be sent when a sensor has crossed a specified warning or alarm level. There will also be a color-coded notification when looking at the IsoLogic dashboard.

What environments interfere with communications between the sensors and app or gateway? While all Des-Case sensors and edge gateway perform well in most industrial environments, interference can happen when near high electromagnetic sources. Deep mines, metal and concrete walls can also block signals.

Connectivity, IsoLogic Platform and App

How do the sensors communicate wirelessly? Currently, all wireless sensors are using Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate with both the edge gateway and the mobile application.

Do I need wireless coverage throughout the plant? No. While wireless coverage is convenient, wired solutions and signal boosters can be utilized to protect critical assets. Contact your Des-Case representative if you need further details.

If I don’t have network connectivity (Wi-Fi or cellular data) what happens? Contact your Des-Case representative for availability of alternate solutions.

Do I need to use the sensors’ native software to set up the sensor or can I do that in your IsoLogic platform? It depends on the sensor. Contact your Des-Case representative for specific sensor details.

Do I have to use the IsoLogic platform to read my data from your sensors? No. All wired Des-Case wired sensors have RS-485 Modbus RTU outputs. However, all benefits of historical data, trends and notifications are only part of the IsoLogic platform.

Will I be able to have access to the dashboard without owning a gateway? Yes. Edge gateways are provided as part of the subscription platform for the “We Monitor” plan and data can be collected via the mobile application for breathers under the “You Monitor” plan.

Can I download my data from the dashboard? If so, in which format? Yes. PDF and CSV files are currently available.

Can I configure sensors via the dashboard or do I need additional software to do that? Some other sensor configurations are available from the dashboard but the initial configuration is usually conducted at the sensor location. All sensors currently sold include the configuration software at no additional charge.

Which mobile devices are compatible with the IsoLogic app? Most iOS and Android devices are compatible.

Which browsers are supported by the IsoLogic platform? Google Chrome is currently the preferred browser but Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Opera are also compatible. Microsoft Internet Explorer is no longer supported.

Data, Security and Firewalls

Who owns the data? The end user is the owner of the detailed data. Des-Case will not share specific data about an end user to any other party without written consent. However, resultant data about common industry assets may be aggregated for data analysis but will have no end user identity associated with the data.

How long will the information be stored in your system? The data will start archiving after two years and be stored for as long as the subscription is active.

Does Des-Case disclose my data to anyone else? Des-Case will not share specific data about an end user to any other party without written consent. However, resultant data about common industry assets may be aggregated for data analysis but will have no end user identity associated with the data. Click here to read the Des-Case privacy policy.

How is the sensor data protected from hackers? All data sent over the cellular network is protected by OWASP – SQL Injection Prevention, Cross-Site Scripting XSS, Broken Authentication, Insecure Deserialization, Using Components with Known Vulnerabilities (Constant Package Updates), Clickjacking prevention, etc.

Will Des-Case’s sensors and edge devices place my network at risk to hackers? Normally, all data is sent via the cellular network is not connected to a plant’s network. However, if cellular service isn’t available and the plant network is utilized, there is a low risk of the network being exposed based on user authentications and security measures implemented.

What if someone on my team leaves the organization? Will they still have access to our data? Access to the dashboard is controlled by the person in the end user organization with administrative rights. They can delete the credentials of the person that has left the organization.

What if someone on my team loses their phone? Is our data accessible? The data would only be accessible if the person has access to applications on the phone that have remained logged in. The first layer of protection would be getting past the phone logon. Access to the dashboard and the data is controlled by the plant level administrator and that person could delete the account attached to the phone and require new logon credentials.

Will my network’s firewall prevent the data from being transmitted to the IsoLogic platform? In most cases, the data is sent via the cellular network and does not require access to the local network. However, if there is not cellular connection, a connection through the local network would be managed by the local IT manager and could be blocked.
